A faux teaser poster I brewed for the "Fallout" TV/mini series for AMC. Although it's not in the works it would be awesome to see, especially as that rather than a movie as there are many characters, many back stories, and the world is too expansive to cram into two hours.
That's a pretty impressive poster, even if it's fake. Thing is, even if there was a TV series instead of a movie, they would probably use the first Fallout game as the start point. The person in the poster is wearing a Vault 101 jumpsuit. The Vault Dweller from the fist game wore a Vault 13 jumpsuit. Still, cool looking poster.
Yeah, my friend grilled me about the use of 101 over 13 which in all honesty wasn't a conscious choice. Although Fallout 3 was probably the first exposure to the series for a lot of people (including myself) cause it was on multiple platforms. I think given how vast the world of Fallout is, and how many story lines there are, it would be difficult to retrofit one game's story it into TV. It'd be best being it's own story rather than try to translate one of the already existing ones. Personally I'd love to see it in the style of Heroes or Magnolia in that you have the background and there's all these different story lines and characters running independent of each other that occasionally cross each other. But glad you like it.
HBO could probably do Fallout right. It shames me to admit I haven't read the books behind True Blood or Game of Thrones. Nevertheless, I love both series.
Regardless of the network, that poster is awesome. I love the tagline.
I think to put it on Sci-Fi, or SyFy as it's painfully called now, would be very very bad. Not much of their original programming in the last couple years has yielded positive feedback with but a couple exceptions. And I put AMC on there because a few stars from their original programming say they let the artists do whatever they want and with "The Walking Dead" added to their roster I think it'd be a fair home.
I found an article last year that Bethesda is looking to sell the rights to Showtime but I've found nothing since then. Fingers cross it doesn't get raped.
